This year, the organizers of the USENIX/ACCURATE Electronic Voting Technology Workshop (EVT) have merged EVT with the IAVoSS Workshop on Trustworthy Elections (WOTE) to create a joint two-day workshop (EVT/WOTE '09). EVT/WOTE seeks to bring together researchers from a variety of disciplines, ranging from computer science and human-computer interaction experts through political scientists, legal experts, election administrators, and voting equipment vendors.

The 2009 APSA Annual Meeting will convene in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, September 3-6, 2009. For the first time in its 104 years, the Annual Meeting will take place outside the United States. In its own small way this traveling across a border is symbolic of the multiplicity of ways in which politics is, and our discipline needs to be, in motion.

The 2nd international and interdisciplinary conference on e-voting and identity will be held in Luxembourg, 7-8 September 2009. The first edition was held in Bochum on 4-5 October 2007 (see also the proceedings by Springer).
